Well Coached: Building the Brotherhood

Bobby Thompson’s dream of being a head coach is fulfilled with the Bulldogs, the best known and most respected program in the state. But parent manipulation and the athletic director’s animosity leave Bobby feeling isolated, frustrated, and discouraged. He’s failed miserably to apply the principles that he learned in Well Coached: A Coach’s Journey.

Bobby reaches out to his mentor, Coach Justin Tucker, who sends Bobby and his young assistant coach on a journey to interact with coaches and players in unexpected settings—from an auto shop to a barber’s chair to a surprising event on the pitcher’s mound. The two men learn that to Build a Brotherhood of their team will require commitment to live and teach what Tucker calls the Starting 9.
